Lupe Fiasco- “Around My Way [Freedom Ain't Free]” (Music Video)

Lupe just dropped this on 106&Park, and now it’s up online to go viral. Lupe’s FOOD & LIQUOR 2: The Great American Rap Album PT.1 drops on September 25.

Lupe Fiasco: “Bitch Bad”

This isn’t exactly what it seems like on the surface, or what it sounds like if you listen to just the first 5 seconds. Lupe Fiasco’s FOOD & LIQUOR 2: The Great American Rap Album PT.1 drops on September 25.

Lupe Fiasco: “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” (Video Still)

It seems that the track that started the controversy will be getting the visual treatment soon, and it’s gonna include some fun animation. We’ll see how the hip hop community accepts it when the video drops.

Lupe Fiasco: “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)”

Complete with some clever single artwork and an oh so familiar sample, Lupe Fiasco presents this, his first single, produced by Simonsayz and B-Side, off of Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, which promises to be much more Lupe-esque than L.A.S.E.R.S.

The Game- “Skate On” Feat. Lupe Fiasco (Prod. By Pharrell)

This is one heck of a trio connecting on this one. This is a leftover that didn’t make The Game’s R.E.D. Album, but will find a home on his California Repbulic mixtape, dropping tomorrow. Props to Rap-Up.

Robert Glasper: Making Of “Black Radio” (Video)

Check out the promo video for the upcoming Black Radio album from the Robert Glasper Experiment, which drops February 28. It features the likes of Musiq Soulchild, Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco and more! Peep the tracklist after the jump and get excited.

Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor is not such a gimme, but that might only be because it just came out in 2006, making it too recent in our minds to warrant that type of consideration. But is Lupe’s Food & Liquor really a “new classic”? Is it better than Illmatic??

After a RE/Mixed Media Festival panel discussion in Brooklyn, I talked with Brooklyn Bodega managing editor and Hip Hop DX contributing writer The Company Man to have the ultimate debate. Illmatic vs. Food & Liquor.

Part II after the jump
