Old School: Kyrie Irving Disguised As Old Man Schools Ballers In A Pickup Game

Props to Sports Grid. Kyrie Irving hooked up with Pepsi Max to trick some unsuspecting into thinking that old man Uncle Drew was schooling them on the basketball court. Turns out to be the 2011-12 NBA Rookie of the Year. The magic of makeup.

Saints Bounty: Greg Williams Audio- “Kill Frank Gore’s Head”

The controversy around the bounty system being run by New Orleans Saints coach Greg Williams has been the biggest story in the NFL since the Super Bowl. Head coach Sean Payton has already been suspended for a season for letting it happen under his watch,

Now we have audio of Williams talking to his team before a game with the San Francisco 49ers, telling his defense to go after the 49ers players, encouraging them to go for their heads, and much more. CAUTION, there is explicit language.

Fab Melo: Syracuse’s Starting Center Ineligible For The NCAA Tournament

In a twist that’s sure to have college basketball fans scrambling over their brackets, according to ESPN, Syracuse center Fab Melo will be ineligible for all NCAA Tournament games. Syracuse University made the announcement on Tuesday, but would not go into detail about the reason for having to sit him out.

Syracuse is a number one seed in the Tourney, and is, at least with a full roster, a favorite to win the national championship.

Melo, at 7’0″ tall, stepped his productivity up from last year’s freshman campaign, averaging 7.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks this season. He’s also the team’s only seven footer.

Deron Williams: Nets Guard Explodes For 57 Points In Win Over Bobcats

Arguably the only bright spot for the 12-26 New Jersey Nets has been the play of point guard and leader Deron Williams. Coming into Sunday’s game against the statistically worse Charlotte Bobcats (4-30 prior), Williams was averaging 21.7 points and 8.3 assists per game, with five 30+ point outings.

Sunday night Williams went off in a major way, dropping 56 points in a 101-96 victory in Charlotte over the Bobcats. He had to be pushed by a motivation that even if his Nets are going to be a bad team, he won’t let them lose to the worst squad out there in the League.

Williams shot 16-29 from the field and shot a perfect 21-21 from the free throw line. He also managed to throw seven assists to teammates in there. Even with his Herculean effort, New Jersey was just barely able to avoid giving Charlotte its fifth win of the season, winning 104-101.

Happy Anniversary: 50 Years Since Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 Point Game

Decided to go with a different picture from the obvious.

On March 2, 1962, exactly 50 years prior to today, Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors lit up the New York Knickerbockers for 100 points in a single 169-147 victory. That mark is still the most points ever recorded in an NBA game by a single player, with Kobe Bryant‘s 81-point effort a not-so-close second place.

Wilt Chamberlain’s spectacular performance that night was unprecedented and will never, ever happen again for a few reasons.
