My Life: Lyriciss Shares The 3 Best Things About His Life
Lyriciss recently released a new single called “My Life” off of his upcoming The Balance: Heart EP, and it’s a track I’m very high on. With “My Life,” Lyriciss gives you his passion for music and where he’s come from, and really just reveals himself while celebrating the life he’s been given. So with “My Life” out now, I asked him the question, “What are the 3 best things about your life?” And you know what, he actually answered.
Lyriciss’ Response:
1. My daughter – I don’t care what it is I ever achieve…fame, fortune, Grammy nominations or wins, whatever it may be…nothing is better than my daughter. She’s my inspiration for EVERYTHING I do.
2. Being blessed with the gift of making music. – Despite what a lot of these new rappers tend to think, everybody can’t be an artist. Some of the skills are developed, indeed, but you’re born with the rest of it. I knew since a child that I’d be involved with music, from playing trumpet to teaching myself how to play a little bit of piano to my love of dancing and my eventual love for hip-hop…I was born to do this, and I thank God for it.
3. Genuine support. – I’m incredibly blessed to have such supportive people around me everyday. I’ve been rapping since I was 9. I told my mother about my music dreams when I was 17 or 18. You know what she told me? “If you truly believe in your talent, I support you.” That was all I needed to hear. My mother, my brothers, my woman, my daughter and her mother, my friends…they’re all really supportive and that means a lot. I definitely need more support in die-hard fans, but the ones I have also go hard for me and are amazing. I love it. You have to understand, I’ve been to rock bottom already, musically and personally, so support will always mean a lot to me, no matter how small or large the support is. I strive off of it because it inspires me. Your belief in me becomes my fuel.
