Fvck Cancer: Curtiss King Shares The Inspiration Behind His Latest Single
Curtiss King recently released a video for “Fvck Cancer,” the second single off of his upcoming Atychiphobia – The Fear Of Failure album. I thought the track warranted a deep look into it, so I tapped Curtiss himself to explain what inspired him to make the song.
“The song was motivated by a dream I had where I was speaking to family members of mine that have passed away at a roundtable. The discussion was an intervention of sorts telling me to do more with my time on Earth. If I choose to do music it must be to help others or document stories in my life that others can’t articulate into music.
“Fvck Cancer” is the biproduct of seeing my peers go around yelling about how proud they are to have haters. I made “Fvck Cancer” to direct the negative energy into a worthwhile direction and cause. My grandfather, grandmother, and friends have all been affected by cancer, this was my dedication to them.
This song was also my way of using my time and words on this Earth more wisely and try to genuinely help people, no matter what they are going through.”
