Lyriciss’ next installment in the DJ Booth-presented The Balance EP series, The Balance: Heart, is dropping on August 21, and this first offering from it is spectacular. I actually did somehow expect to hear the Roy Ayers sample (then, Mary took it and ran with Ayers’ original) when I saw the “My Life” title, but what I didn’t anticipate was such a dope reconstruction of the sample from producer Slimkat78. Everything from the instrumental, to the lyrics, to the second and a half pause before each chorus makes this one of Lyriciss’ strongest tracks ever.
